Topic for other music related discussions!
To get this thing started, general talk about music genres, different bands and artists and groups, share your favorite songs and music videos with others, just anything and everything revolved around music that we love (excluding H!P, as they have their own topics and categories but includes other J-music)!

I'm not really picky when it comes to music, but I tend to gravitate towards older stuff like the garage rock-sound of The Strokes (2000's is considered old now!? *coughs blood*), Michael Buble's covers of old love songs, BILL WITHERS ('Ain't no Sunshine' is my favorite from him). Also for some reason I really love 80's music. Like not even limited to music in English but 'Kagayaki Nagara' by Hideaki Tokunaga is so old school but man I just love it (which btw was the song played in Ishikawa's last day on Utaban as a member).

As Nifuruc said, music is HUGE. I have instruments that I'm trying to teach myself to play, but I'm not pacing myself properly, so I need to work on that. Haha.
When it comes to trying to name favorite bands/artists or genres, there's just no way I can confidently do that. Like most, I'm super eclectic with my musical preferences. I listen to all kinds of songs no matter the language, genre, and era. Compared to most others around my age (mid-20s), I'd say I do have more of a preference toward oldies than others. In no particular order, some of my favorite songs include (but definitely not limited to):
-ABBA - Waterloo -from The Fifth Element OST - The Diva Dance -Guang Liang - Tong Hua -the Spanish nursery rhyme "Bate Bate Chocolate" (odd, I know, but I heard this little tune in a chocolate Life cereal commercial and have liked it ever since)
And SO MANY others, with varying reasons like how it's nostalgic, provocative in some way, or just plain catchy.

It's interesting to see people with such different tastes.
While I do love music from almost any genres, I tend to just listen to few on repeat. As a die hard Ayumi Hamasaki fan, Ayu's no doubt one of those. Fortunately she does all kinds of music from rock to pop and ballads so there's much to choose from! She writes the lyrics of all her songs, even sometimes composes them. She's very known for her incredible lyric writing, so if you are into lyrics you definitely should take a look at them sometime!
When I'm taking a break from her, I give Namie Amuro, Ai Otsuka, moumoon, Koda Kumi, Lady Gaga, Cyntia, Ko Shibasaki and multiple others (including Morning Musume and H!P of course) a listen!
